An isolved evaluation has two parts: the software you want and the company that will deliver it. You might work directly with isolved or buy through a payroll service provider using its platform. That distinction affects who answers your payroll questions and manages your account. isolved's support guidance directs Network Partner customers to their own provider.
For a US employer connecting payroll, benefits and employee records, isolved deserves consideration. Borderless AI becomes relevant when an overseas employee needs a legal employer and you do not want to establish your own local entity. Even then, replacing isolved may be unnecessary: its marketplace already includes international employment providers.
What are you buying?
Where isolved fits
isolved's appeal is the connection between payroll and the HR work around it. Its payroll software includes managed tax calculations, filings and payments, reporting and employee self-service. People Cloud connects that work with benefits, onboarding and time management.
The current product also includes The Guardian, a payroll AI agent that identifies potential errors and prepares corrections for administrator approval. That is a specific payroll workflow worth seeing in a demo. Compare how your team reviews exceptions, approves changes and closes a run.
The delivery model deserves the same attention. isolved's Network program serves payroll providers, administrative services organizations and professional employer organizations. Its PayMint case study gives a concrete example: the partner handles its client service and implementation while using isolved technology.
A service provider using isolved is therefore more than a software logo on an invoice. Before switching platforms over a support problem, establish whether the issue belongs to the platform, your configuration or your contracted provider. Ask who owns tax notices, year-end corrections, implementation and escalation deadlines. Do not assume every isolved customer has the same service arrangement.
Does isolved support international hiring?
There is an international route in its ecosystem. The Remote listing explicitly describes hiring without establishing local entities and managing international payroll. It identifies the offering as provided by Remote and asks buyers to confirm availability with their representative.
isolved also announced an expanded partnership in June 2026, saying Remote's EOR capabilities would become accessible within People Cloud. The announcement used future language. Ask for a demonstration of what is available in your account today, which countries it supports and who contracts with you for employment services.
That makes a blanket claim that isolved cannot help with global hiring misleading. The useful comparison is between a separately provided international employment service in the isolved ecosystem and an EOR relationship with Borderless AI.
For buyers in Canada or the UK, distinguish your headquarters from your employees' work locations. The US payroll workflows discussed here should not be treated as confirmation of Canadian or UK statutory payroll. Request a country-specific scope, including filings, benefits and the responsible employer, before choosing either arrangement.
When does Borderless AI belong on the shortlist?
Consider an employer whose US staff already use isolved. The business wants to hire someone abroad but has no local employing entity. Borderless AI's EOR service addresses that employment need, including contracts and payroll. A reasonable option is to keep the existing US arrangement and evaluate Borderless for that hire alongside the international services available through isolved's marketplace.
If you already have the required employer infrastructure abroad, ask about global payroll instead. Borderless offers that as a separate service. Establishing who employs the worker comes before comparing payroll administration.
For a combined setup, agree how employee changes, leave approvals and employment costs reach HR and finance. Request a sample monthly report and test the handoff before the first payroll. Keeping two services can make sense, but someone must own the reconciliation.
How should you compare pricing?
Start with the same workforce and a written scope. Ask the isolved seller to separate payroll, HR modules, implementation and any partner services. For an EOR proposal, separate the service fee from salary, employer taxes, statutory contributions and benefits. A payroll software fee and the total cost of employing someone are different amounts.
For a domestic HR and payroll project, evaluate isolved on its own merits. For an overseas hire without a local employer, compare the actual employment provider, supported country, service responsibilities and total cost. A good existing payroll arrangement can remain in place while you solve the new hiring problem.
