Employers must follow dismissal procedures and provide a just cause for termination.

Dismissals can be justified under disciplinary or economic reasons.

Notice period

Employers must provide notice for dismissal unless it was due to negligence or misconduct.

  • 1 months notice after 6 months of employment
  • 2 months notice after 2 years of employment
  • 3 months notice for executives or more than 2 years of employment

Probation Period

Probation periods are determined by the type of job and seniority and vary based on the collective bargaining agreement.

The maximum period is 8 months.

Severance Details

Severance varies on the employee's length of service and collective bargaining agreement provisions.
