Payment Information

Minimum Wage

The minimum wage in Ukraine is UAH 6,700 per month.

Overtime Pay

Standard working hours are 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week. The standard workweek is from Monday to Friday. If an employee works overtime, they receive double the pay. 

Additional Pay

Adoption Leave: Parents who adopt a newborn from a hospital are entitled to 56 days of paid maternity leave (70 days in the case of multiple adoptions) to care for their new child. Only one parent may use their parental leave entitlement.

Payroll Cycle

For all Borderless customers, employee payments will be made in equal monthly installments on or before the last working day of each calendar month, payable in arrears.

Termination Process

Terminations are only allowed for just cause or by mutual agreement. Otherwise, employers may face penalties and will have to offer severance pay. 

Notice period

There are different notice periods depending on the situation. No notice is required under mutual agreement and 3 days notice is sufficient during probation. 

Employees may resign with a 2 weeks notice. Laying off employees requires a 2 months notice.

Probation Period

The probation period in Ukraine is 1 to 3 months.

Severance Details

When an employer terminates an employee, they may be obligated to provide severance pay. The amount owed will depend on the reason for termination and ranges from 1 to 3 months of a regular salary.
